German Military Not Allowed To Use Lethal Force ?!?

German Special Forces had an important Taliban commander in their sights in Afghanistan. But he escaped — because the Germans were not authorized to use lethal force.

The Taliban commander is regarded as a brutal extremist with excellent connections to terror cells across the border in Pakistan. Security officials consider him to be one of the most dangerous players in the region, which is under German command as part of NATO’s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission in Afghanistan. The military accuses him of laying roadside bombs and of sheltering suicide attackers prior to their bloody missions.

Germany’s KSK special forces have been charged with capturing the terrorist, in cooperation with the Afghan secret service organization NDS and the Afghan army. The German elite soldiers were able to uncover the Taliban commander’s location. They spent weeks studying his behavior and habits: when he left his house and with whom, how many men he had around him and what weapons they carried, the color of his turban and what vehicles he drove.

The Danish Intifada (updated with video and links)

An article appeared last night in Jyllands-Posten about the riots that have been going on for the last four or five days in Denmark. Cars and schools have been set ablaze, and barricades — actual barricades — have appeared in the streets. Is this 1968 all over again?

The article refers to the autonomer of Ungdomshuset, but I assumed that Muslims must be involved too, since Gellerup (a predominantly Muslim suburb of Århus) is mentioned.

The violence is also being billed as a response to the republication of the Motoons over the last few days, but the first cars were burning before the death-plot against Kurt Westergaard was publicly revealed and the plotters were arrested.

Archbishop of Canterbury: Sharia law in UK is ‘unavoidable’

The Archbishop of Canterbury says the adoption of certain aspects of Sharia law in the UK “seems unavoidable”.

Dr Rowan Williams told Radio 4’s World at One that the UK has to “face up to the fact” that some of its citizens do not relate to the British legal system.

Dr Williams argues that adopting parts of Islamic Sharia law would help maintain social cohesion.

For example, Muslims could choose to have marital disputes or financial matters dealt with in a Sharia court.

He says Muslims should not have to choose between “the stark alternatives of cultural loyalty or state loyalty”.

And how much longer before parts of the USA are declared ‘no-go’ zones for law enforcement, and given over to Sharia Law? Special religious accommodation for Muslim foot washing basins are already being installed by the government in public places and schools in the midwest today.

Belgians Arrest Anti-Jihadi Protesters

Protesters sought to use the Sept. 11 anniversary to point out that Islam threatens democracy and the rule of law in Europe.The demonstration was initially planned by Stop Islamization of Europe, a loose alliance with roots in Germany, Britain and Denmark, which had predicted that 20,000 people would come to Brussels from all over Europe.Brussels Mayor Freddy Thielemans banned the protest last month, calling SIOE an inflammatory group and its proposed
demonstration a threat to public order. An appeals court upheld the ban Aug. 29.

Only 200 or so protesters showed up Tuesday for a protest lasting only 30 minutes. The demonstrators faced more than 100 police, backed up by water cannons and helicopters, who closed off streets around the EU headquarters.

The Jihad in Europe; Demographic Invasion USA

One of my favorite bloggers was recently in Europe attending a Counter Jihad Summit [One] [Two] [Three] [Four] [*Five*] [Six] last month. The fifth link contains the meat if you only have time to read one.

All this to get you to the point of a recent post entitled, “Conversations with Fjordman” where he discusses the state of the jihad in Europe. A snippet:

The more I investigate the Great Jihad, the more important Europe seems. The United States military fights on the front lines of the “War on Terror”, but Europeans live on the front lines. What happens in Europe is crucial: if the USA follows Denmark’s example, we can expect to defeat the Jihad. If we use Sweden as a model, we can put our head between our legs right now and kiss our collective fundament goodbye.

In either case, what happens in Europe foreshadows the shape of things to here in the USA.

Social welfare policies, on the other hand, are still under the control of the individual European states. As a result, Third World immigrants — many of whom subsist on state payments — tend to move to where the welfare programs are the most generous. This could also be applied to the United States as far as Illegal Aliens moving to states where they are treated better by social welfare programs, and they are not hassled while finding work…in particular North Carolina, where it is notoriously easy to get Drivers Licenses:

Currently, North Carolina and five other states allow the use of an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) as proof of identity when issuing driver’s licenses and identification cards. A taxpayer identification number does not prove you are who you say you are. This allows illegal aliens to come to North Carolina and get a driver’s license with nothing more than a slip of paper with numbers on it.[Source]

While I haven’t seen these two issues linked together in such a fashion; I believe there is a parallel that we could draw lessons from the comparison.
