Hypocrisy and Lefty Bloggers

Posted by Thunder Pig on June 10, 2008

I get a kick out out lefty bloggers, especially the Marxists who would put the government in control of every aspect of our lives until every drop of liberty was squeezed out.

An example:

– I saw three people roll up to a wedding this weekend in their H2. They drove it from Atlanta. I’m not sure if it occurred to them that they were consuming irresponsibly.

Source: Scrutiny Hooligans

Like most lefties, it never occurs to them that liberty involves the freedom to act irresponsibly…except that these people did not act responsibly, and had less of an effect on the environment than most people who cannot afford a Hummer.

That is how the Free Market works, people drive what they can afford. My old chevy 1987 pickup gets 6 miles to the gallon and has no emission control devices. It cost me $200. That should get more of his self-righteous ire than the H2’s (which get better fuel mileage than any of my vehicles), and there are probably ten thousand pickups like mine to every H2 out there on the road.

And my 1997 Ford diesel pickup gets only 12 mpg (it drops down to 7-8 when I haul trailers around loaded with equipment), and it is not subject to passing emission tests like my other truck. Models like that are also more numerous than the H2.

The H2 represents class envy for those on the left. At least the H2 can carry 6 people, my Chvy only carries 2, and my diesel only carries 4 max. Plus, the H2 is far more environmentally friendly in its emission control than most of the older vehicles on the road.

The lefty goes on to complain about the spelling of people on the forums of the regional paper, which leads me to ask, “What is it with lefties and spelling?” Why are they such spelling and grammar Nazis? Do they not realize that what they are complaining about is a direct result of their much-loved public education system? A system that is increasingly teaching children more about multiculturalism than about spelling. A system that is teaching a system of false tolerance for any belief except Christianity and conservatism?

Don’t you think it odd that a parent with an 8th grade education can homeschool their children to outspell 99% of children taught in the public education system, and for less money per pupil?

I could go on and on, but will restrict myself to one more topic, and I have saved the best for last.

Yesterday, that blogger came over here and berated me in the comments about convicting Obama with “guilt by association” posts. (His blog is woven with that thread through and through).

I didn’t have to wait long for him to post another…less than 24 hours later, he goes and does what he was irate about me doing. Hypocrisy, where is thy sting? The dichotomy is delicious, and shows a level of intellectual dishonesty that would make for a comedic character study if presented on stage, film, or even in a weekly sitcom.

The dichotomy comes from him calling it wrong for me to point out the Foul Deeds committed by the many Associates of Barack Obama, but fairplay when it comes to pointing out the Foul Deeds of those associated with Bush, Cheney, or anyone else he chooses. I believe that there is much to be learned from one’s associates, whether it work out to suit my ideological beliefs or not.

This Campaign Season will be very fun from the standpoint of watching all the lefty chickens coming home to roost.

I predict that Emperor Obama will have no clothes at the end of this election, and it is my hope that the takedown of Obama will cause irreparable harm to progressivism in this Republic.

Obamalogo Fun

Posted by Thunder Pig on June 2, 2008

I found a link to a fun website on the local progressive watering hole, and decided to participate.

I uploaded a photo of Karl Marx, and it was approved!!!

By the way, one of the wags over there added my avatar to the Obamalogo.

All’s fair in love and war, and this is lo…war. Lucky for them I have a sense of humor.

Democratic Candidates Converge on Asheville, And Scrutiny Hooligans Were There

Posted by Thunder Pig on January 20, 2008

Arratik and I, after loading up with kegs of Caffiend’s finest roast, ventured into the blowing snow and made our way to UNC-Asheville’s Lipinsky Auditorium for the first of six scheduled debates between the Democratic candidates for Lieutenant Governor. Moderated by NC 11th District Democratic Party Chairman, Luke Hyde, and organized by the NC Young Democrats, the debate allowed too much time for each response and too little chance to compare candidates stances. Each of the four men meandered away from the prescribed questions. They’re politicians, after all, and they’re going to keep talking if you let them. Very few questions were answered at the Jan. 19th debate, but the ones that were reveal four distinct personalities running on four different records.

The debate was dominated by environment and energy issues, and this being Asheville, that’s no surprise. I imagine that each debate will have its own set of pet issues, so I’m hopeful that we’ll have a comprehensive picture of each candidate by the end of the series.

Gordon and Arratik have done good work in with their coverage of the field jockeying for the nod to be the Democrat candidate for Lt. Governor of North Carolina.

It is a safe bet that their coverage will be better than what you will read in the Asheville Citizen-Times.

The Homosexual Agenda: Indoctrinating Your Children

Posted by Thunder Pig on November 14, 2007

The Carolina Stompers have recently raised awareness to a piece of legislation in the North Carolina General Assembly with the seemingly innocuous title of “”.

I posted about it yesterday, and one of the bloggers over at Scrutiny Hooligans, Gordon Smith, engaged me in a discussion yesterday. He has even posted about it himself.

Today’s article will pull back the curtain to allow you to see what exactly is going on here, and it most certainly is not an attempt to obtain “equal rights.”

The following is taken from a book review:

Another target of the homosexuals is the public schools. “According to the National Education Association and its allies, children must be taught that sexual orientation is fluid (which is an interesting contradiction since homosexual activists are intent on proving a genetic link to their behavior), that only ‘intolerant religions’ do not affirm homosexual behavior, and that once you are entrapped in homosexual behavior, there is no escape. No dissenting views are permitted. Thus, the gospel is silenced, parental values are undermined, and an impressionable child is doomed to engage in behavior that will often result in his or her eventual self-destruction.” (p. 51) As Newsweek writer, David Gelman, puts it, “At high schools around the country, multiculturalism has begun to embrace multisexualism…more students seem to be coming out, and they’re coming out younger.” (p. 50)

“The indoctrination that takes place in our public schools has definitely had an effect in shaping teens’ attitudes toward homosexual behavior. In 2001, Zogby International released a poll that found that 85 percent of high school seniors thought homosexual men and lesbians should be accepted by society…….two-thirds thought same-sex marriage should be allowed. Even 80 percent of evangelical Christian students supported hate-crimes legislation, which in its many proposed forms, will be used to silence religious speech about homosexual behavior.” (p. 67)

Universities are now actively recruiting homosexuals, in some cases “tailoring their student housing policies to support homosexual behavior and preferences.” (p. 76) At the same time, Steve Hayner, former president of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship reports, “We have had more challenges to our basic right to exist on campus settings during the past two years than in the previous fifty-five combined. It’s not just us—this is hitting Catholics and Muslims and others. What we are seeing is a growing challenge to religious free speech.” (p. 72) “While people of faith find themselves forced to put up with behavior that offends them, those who practice homosexual behavior are catered to, at the expense of everyone else.” (p. 77)

“Lately homosexual behavior on college campuses is taking a dangerous new turn – the promotion of sexual relations between adults and children, known as pedophilia.” (p. 83) U.S. News and World Report columnist John Leo noted that he had “seen a trend toward the promotion of pedophilia among academics as early as 1981.” (p. 85) Professor Harris Mirkin of the University of Missouri-Kansas City published a study (funded with taxpayer money) that compared the ‘moral panic’ about pedophilia to previous ‘panics’ about feminism and homosexuality.” Sheldon Steinbach of the American Council on Education adds his comment, “Today’s heresy often becomes tomorrow’s orthodoxy.” (p. 85) “This statement is extremely chilling but also very true. Just as homosexual behavior has now become accepted orthodoxy on many university campuses and Christians and Orthodox Jews have become the heretics, we are going down the same road with pedophilia. As the homosexual agenda continues to sexualize our culture, other once-forbidden behaviors are exalted as just more alternative lifestyles. The result is that the well-being of millions of children is at risk, along with the right of parents to protect their children from sexual exploitation.” (p. 86)

Taken from an article on The Intellectual Conservative that reviews the book, The Homosexual Agenda: Exposing The Principal Threat To Religious Freedom Today.

Source: Read more at The Intellectual Conservative

Consider purchasing the book to arm yourself with information that you can use to combat these attempts to indoctrinate your children in public schools.

The reviewers end their article with the very eloquent following statement:

The authors state, “Many Christians are unaware of the threats posed to their religious freedoms. Because of this, either because of ignorance or laziness, sadly, many Christians will come to realize the famous lament of the German pastor, Martin Niemoeller, is true for them as well: ‘First they came for the Jews, but I did nothing because I am not a Jew. Then they came for the socialists, but I did nothing because I am not a socialist. Then they came for the Catholics, but I did nothing because I am not a Catholic. Finally, they came for me, but by then there was no one left to help me.” (p. 204) This book is an excellent read if you want to see clearly the chilling path where the homosexual movement is really taking us.

Bar Fight in the Blue Ridge: Screwy Responds

Posted by Thunder Pig on June 18, 2007

Screwy Hoolie has taken up the gauntlet thrown by John Armor.

This could get interesting should John respond.

Here is a partial response by me…

Here is more information on Union Card Check procedure that Screwy leaves out:

The union is conducting a “card check” organizing drive at my workplace, and I am not interested in union representation. What are my rights?

If a union collects signed “authorization cards” from 50% plus 1 of the employees in a particular bargaining unit, your employer could declare that the union is the exclusive representative of all employees without a secret ballot election. Thus, it is vitally important for employees to know that signing a union authorization card will likely mean that they will never get to cast a secret ballot for or against the union.

Be sure to read more at this website.

And beware that going Union will cost your employer a competitive edge, as it has with GM (to pick an obvious example):

Healthcare costs alone impose an average cost of $1,500 per GM vehicle. Unlike most U.S. private-sector workers, GM’s unionized workers do not pay deductibles on their health coverage. According to the UAW contract in force until 2007, GM’s hourly workers pay only 7 percent of their total healthcare costs, compared to 27 to 32 percent paid by the average U.S. salaried worker. Recent “concessions” by GM’s unions will slow the hemorrhaging, but they may be too little, too late.

In contrast, most foreign-owned auto plants in the United States are non-unionized. Their workers are not as generously compensated as GM’s workers, but they are relatively well-paid with good benefits. And because their employers are not saddled with the uneconomic pension and healthcare costs of a UAW contract, they can produce cars at a more competitive price, creating more opportunity and job security for existing workers. Michigan-based GM’s toughest competition these days is not from Japan, but from Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, South Carolina and the other states where foreign-owned auto companies have established production facilities.
