Report Says Bush Backs Israeli Plan To Strike Iran, Part LXIV

Posted by Thunder Pig on July 13, 2008

I think I have heard this report at least 100 times since the summer of 2003:

President George W Bush has told the Israeli government that he may be prepared to approve a future military strike on Iranian nuclear facilities if negotiations with Tehran break down, according to a senior Pentagon official.Despite the opposition of his own generals and widespread scepticism that America is ready to risk the military, political and economic consequences of an airborne strike on Iran, the president has given an “amber light” to an Israeli plan to attack Iran’s main nuclear sites with long-range bombing sorties, the official told The Sunday Times.“Amber means get on with your preparations, stand by for immediate attack and tell us when you’re ready,” the official said. But the Israelis have also been told that they can expect no help from American forces and will not be able to use US military bases in Iraq for logistical support.Nor is it certain that Bush’s amber light would ever turn to green without irrefutable evidence of lethal Iranian hostility. Tehran’s test launches of medium-range ballistic missiles last week were seen in Washington as provocative and poorly judged, but both the Pentagon and the CIA concluded that they did not represent an immediate threat of attack against Israeli or US targets.

I should hope he backs a plan to strike Iran!!!
I support a strike on Iran, and am confident that we and/or Israel will strike when the time is right, and in a way which will minimize our casualties and civilian casualties in Iran. Iran, however, will not. They will seek to kill as many innocent people as possible in a reverse human shield scenario ala the Scud Attacks on Israel in Desert Storm.

Having worked in the field in the past, I believe that part of what is taking us so long in striking Iran is the rolling up of Iranian supported terror cells in the USA like we did in 1990-91 prior to striking Iraq. Someday, these stories will be told. The Democrats, Progressives, and other anti-war types will be exposed for being completely clueless about the threat posed by these groups. My only regret is that it will be decades before they will be declassified.
What will be hard is locating the “leaderless resistance” type of cells formed by Muslim volunteers that operate completely offline from the internet and do not use telephones or mail, only person to person contact.
I expect that the first 24 hours after the strike, the anti-American war protesters will go nuts…and there will be a very short-lived hiccup in the supply chain in America.
I would advise everyone to keep your larder stocked and keep your fuel tanks topped off, and only if you can store fuel safely…a week’s worth of fuel for your automobiles and other needs if you have power generators. Although I only expect a 24 to 72 Hour disruption (if at all), I live by the credo of preparation overkill as taught to me by my mother and father.
If you are interested in being prepared, I can suggest the following Websites:
Survival Blog (also on my right-hand sidebar)

Ready.gov

It never hurts to be prepared. And with Hurricane season upon us, being prepared may help you coast through the supply chain hiccup and brief uptick in fuel prices.

7th of 8 Haditha Marines Cleared of Charges Will Jack "War Crimes" Murtha Apologize?

Posted by Thunder Pig on June 17, 2008

Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani was found not guilty of all charges today, and Gateway Pundit notes that 7 of 8 have now been cleared…despite the assurances of Congressman Murtha that they were guilty.

You can ask Congressman Murtha’s office when an apology will be forthcoming at 202-225-2065. Be nice to the people in the office.

Jack Murtha on the US Marines at Haditha:

“…they killed innocent civilians in cold blood…”

Congressman, do the right thing and apologize. We know you couldn’t help it because you are a Moonbat Democrat, and as such hate America, and believe the worst about the brave young men and women who selflessly serve their nation.

Afghan-Pakistan Clashes and Iranians in Iraq

Posted by Thunder Pig on June 11, 2008

I am glad to see that we will not afford our enemy a sanctuary across international borders (I wish we would do the same with Mexico), and we are engaging the enemy:

The Afghan Army clashed with the Taliban in the Pakistani tribal agency of Mohmand on June 10. While initial reports indicated the US conducted a targeted airstrike against a Taliban or al Qaeda target in the tribal agency, the aircraft appear to have been supporting Afghan troops. Pakistani soldiers were reported to have been killed in the fighting.

The fighting started after Afghan forces attacked a Taliban force as it attempted to cross the border. Between 10 and 13 Pakistani soldiers were killed after Afghan and US forces pursued Taliban forces fleeing into Pakistan.

“The militants launched a cross-border attack into Afghanistan,” an unnamed Pakistani security official told Reuters. “At least 10 of our soldiers were killed in a counter-offensive by forces in Afghanistan.” Geo TV reported 13 Pakistani soldiers, including a major, were killed. An estimated 50 Pakistani soldiers were manning an outpost in Suran Dara along the Afghan-Pakistani frontier. Only 10 have been accounted for.

I wonder when we’ll start going across the border in Iran to stop their “Special Groups” and “Explosives Experts” from going into Iraq and killing American soldiers? When will people begin to realize that Iran has been at war with us since President Jimmy Carter installed the Ayatollah Khomeini and jump started the Iranian Islamic Revolution?

BAGHDAD – Coalition forces captured a suspected Iranian-trained Special Groups explosives expert Wednesday in Numaniyah, about 180 km southeast of Baghdad near Al Kut.

Acting on intelligence information, Coalition forces targeted a suspected Iranian-trained improvised explosive device expert. Using information provided by Special Groups criminals already detained, the targeted criminal is believed to have traveled to Iran several times for explosives training. Intelligence sources also said the suspect has numerous Iranian contacts with whom he would meet when smuggling weapons and bomb-making materials into Iraq.

Coalition forces entered the suspected criminal’s residence and subdued him without firing any shots after the man made a move toward a weapon.

“Significance progress is being made, and Iraqi people are a big part of the operations to stop terrorists throughout Iraq,” said Navy Lt. Patrick Evans, MNF-I spokesperson.

Iraqi Army Continues Dismantling Mahdi Army Supplies

Posted by Thunder Pig on May 24, 2008

You know, if our Media was worth anything, they would be covering our successes in the Iraqi Theater of Action, and the successes of our allies, the Iraqis.

In 5 short years, they have gone from a defeated foe to ally we have helped rebuild, and retask. Theses men have risked their lives, and the lives of their families by just signing up to fight alongside us.

The Iraqi Army has gone from using the failed doctrine of Arab-style warfighting to learning how we fight. And they have learned marvelously.

Part of the success of our doctrine includes a well-oiled logistics network, and disrupting the logistics network of our enemy.

From The Long War Journal:

Less than one week after pushing into the northern two-thirds of Sadr City from the walled southern neighborhoods, the Iraqi Army is uncovering substantial weapons caches in the Mahdi Army stronghold. Iraqi and Coalition forces continue to press against the Mahdi Army in Baghdad as the New Baghdad district begins to heat up.

The Iraqi Army raided numerous Mahdi Army weapons caches in Sadr City May 22-23, Multinational Forces Iraq reported. The Mahdi Army has stockpiled weapons throughout the district. Eight of the armor piercing, Iranian-made explosively formed projectiles have been found along with chlorine poison, eight roadside bombs, and large quantities of explosives, weapons, ammunition, and materials used to make bombs.

Iraqi troops raided a school in Sadr City on May 23 and uncovered a substantial weapons cache. “Two bottles of chlorine poison” were found amongst a remote-controlled improvised explosive device, six 155 mm artillery rounds, an artillery warhead, five grenades, two PKC light machine guns and 450 rounds of PKC ammunition, a Katusha rocket launcher, and radios used to remotely detonate roadside bombs.

The largest cache was found by Iraqi soldiers on May 22. The cache consisted of “one explosively formed projectile; one homemade mine; more than 2000 7.62 mm rounds; 393 5.56 mm rounds; one 80 mm rocket-propelled grenade; RPG launchers, warheads and tails; one cannon ball; grenades; spools of wire; blasting caps; AK- 47 rifles; AK-47 and M-16 magazines; two body armor vests; a Kevlar helmet; two radios; and other assorted military equipment.”

The Iraqi Military Operations in Basra to Continue

Posted by Thunder Pig on April 1, 2008

One day after Muqtada al Sadr, the leader of the Mahdi Army, called for his fighters to abandon combat, the fighting in Basrah has come to a near-halt, and the Iraqi security forces are patrolling the streets. While Sadr spokesman said the Iraqi government agreed to Sadr’s terms for the cease-fire, Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki has said the security forces will continue operations in Basrah in the South. Meanwhile, the Mahdi Army took heavy casualties in Basrah, Nasiriyah, Babil, and Baghdad over the weekend, despite Sadr’s call for the end of fighting.

Maliki was clear that operations would continue in the South. “The armed groups who refuse al Sadr’s announcement and the pardon we offered will be targets, especially those in possession of heavy weapons,” Maliki said, referring to the 10-day amnesty period for militias to turn in heavy and medium weapons. “Security operations in Basra will continue to stop all the terrorist and criminal activities along with the organized gangs targeting people.”

The Iraqi military said it was moving in more forces into the South after admitting it was surprised by the level of resistance encountered in Basrah. “Fresh military reinforcements were sent to Basra to start clearing a number of Basra districts of wanted criminals and gunmen taking up arms,” said Brigadier General Abdel Aziz al Ubaidi, the operations chief for the Ministry of Defense. “Preparations for fresh operations have been made to conduct raids and clearance operations in Basra … [and] military operations would continue to restore security in Basra.”

The reasons behind Sadr’s call for a cessation in fighting remain unknown, but reports indicate the Mahdi Army was having a difficult time sustaining its operations and has taken heavy casualties. “Whatever gains [the Mahdi Army] has made in the field [in Basrah], they were running short of ammunition, food, and water,” an anonymous US military officer serving in South told The Long War Journal. “In short [the Mahdi Army] had no ability to sustain the effort.

The Iraqis are fighting this war for their own country…despite the lies you hear from your typical lefty blogs or the Legacy Media outlets.
We are winning this war, and to leave now would be a crime… worthy of an armed revolution here.

The Main Reason to Vote for McCain in November

Posted by Thunder Pig on February 19, 2008

Before I get to that, let me hand out the Official McCain Barf Bag for the conservatives to use when they go to the polls this fall:

Here is the video:

Video Source: Gateway Pundit

Commentary

I will now speak to the conservatives regarding the hijacking of our party by some truly despicable characters, and the manipulation of our party by the same people, and the media.
RINOs have long held the reigns of power in our party, and they have, on occasion, been outsmarted by a conservative candidate…or temporarily bowing to popular demand, have “dressed themselves” as conservatives. They have mouthed the proper words where necessary.
They have nearly always received our support in the grunt work of campaigning for the candidate of our party. We have hung the banners, planted the signs, distributed the literature, walked the districts, knocked on the doors, made the calls, and drove voters to the polls.

When Ford was chosen as our candidate, we grumbled under our breath and set to work. We worked for Reagan, twice. That was when we were able to sneak one past the leadership. We supported Bush 41 and Dole despite their ideological impurities.
We thought we had snuck another past the leadership when we got George W. Bush. On the most important issues, like National Security and tax cuts, he has been spectacular (that is my word for the day), and on other issues…like the border, spending, etc; he has been as spectacularly bad.
Now, we have found ourselves with McCain.
(Pardon me while I use the barf bag).
Senator McCain has tried to “dress himself” as a conservative. His horn still shows.
This year, GOP leaders, you are lucky. There is a war on, and we realize how important it is that we fight this war. Otherwise, we would repeat our lesson of 2006. We will not.

Instead, we have a different plan. We will come for you. We will take your jobs away from you. We will take our party back. You might want to start dusting your resume off.

Now…to the conservative base of our party, I ask that you consider not only voting for Senator McCain, I ask that you get out there and work to get him elected. And after we are through with that dirty job. I ask that you join with me in taking our party back. You can identify who your allies will be while you are working with others in our party this fall. Talk with them, feel them out on their philosophy, and identify if they are a conservative or not. Get together, and start going to party functions, and bring other conservatives with you. We can use 2010 as our test bed for ideas to apply in 2012 to get a conservatives elected in your city, in your county, in your state, in Congress, and in the White House.

Iraqi, US forces capture senior Special Groups (Iran) operative in Hillah

Posted by Thunder Pig on February 11, 2008

With Muqtada al Sadr set to decide on the status of the Mahdi Army ceasefire on Feb. 23, US and Iraqi security forces continue to step up operations against the Iranian-backed Special Groups and Sadr’s Mahdi Army. The latest raid netted a senior regional Special Groups leader and ten others. According to the Iraqi press, two senior members of the Sadrist current were detained in the raid.

The senior Special Groups leader was captured in Hillah during a raid conducted by a joint Coalition Special Forces team and elements of Iraqi police. The leader is believed to be a regional commander of Special Groups teams in Wasit, Babil and Najaf provinces, as well as a coordinator for weapon shipments, and a planner and operational leader of attacks against Iraqi Security Forces and Coalition Forces. Eleven Special Groups operatives were reported captured in the raid.

Two of those captured were senior leaders in Muqtada al Sadr’s political movement, according to Voices of Iraq. A raid by “joint Iraqi Scorpion forces and U.S. troops arrested Basim al Kilabi, the tribal affairs official at al Sadr’s office, and ten others following a raid on one of Hilla’s villages on Sunday,” a member of Sadr’s media office told the Iraqi newspaper. Also captured was Qassem al Fatlawi, another member of the Sadrist current.

While it is unclear if either Kilabi or Fatlawi are the captured senior Special Groups operative, it is likely Kilabi was the target of the raid. As tribal affairs officer, Kibali would have contacts cutting across the provincial boundaries, and his position would mask his movements and contacts.

The Special Groups was created by Iran’s Qods Force, the special operations branch of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps, to destabilize the Iraqi regime, strike at US and Coalition forces, and extend Iran’s sphere of influence in southern and central Iraq. Iran established the Ramazan Corps as a sophisticated command structure to coordinate military, intelligence, terrorist, diplomatic, religious, ideological, propaganda, and economic operations. The Special Groups falls under Qods Force’s Ramazan Corps.

Be sure to visit the website for the rest of the story, and a flash presentation of how the ratlines into Iraq from Iran work. In my opinion, this puts us in a state of war with Iran.

With this continued Iranian involvement in Iraq, will the Legacy Media notice?

Islam’s Aim Is Establishing Global Government

Posted by Thunder Pig on December 20, 2007

IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Wednesday on Al-Adha Eid Day in Saudi Arabia philosophy of Haj can be defined merely through considering Islam’s aim at establishment of a global government…

He said, “If we would delete the ultimate objective of establishing a global system from the Haj rituals, the remainder would be deeds devoid of a soul.”

Upon President Ahmadinejad’s arrival in Mena, he was received by the Emir al-Haaj of the Iranian Haj pilgrims Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Mohammadi Reyshahri and members of the Supreme Leader’s Mecca Headquarters.

For all those ostriches out there who would ignore the global jihad, and pull our troops back in retreat, you need to remember that act would allow our enemies abroad to grow past the point where we could stop them.

NIE–Attempted Coup Against USA?

Posted by Thunder Pig on December 12, 2007

The evidence continues to mount that this NIE was a work of fiction. Critics from across the political spectrum have voiced skepticism about its conclusions and its methodology; European allies doubt its accuracy, the International Atomic Energy Agency (which normally “sides” with Iran) has raised serious objections. The only parties that seem to trumpet the NIE report are Iran, Russia, and China-our foes.

Be sure you read the thing, and follow the links. I think it is high time we started lining people up and shooting them for their treason, or at least let the appropriate people do some wet work behind the scenes with garrotes.
