You Can’t Make This Stuff Up

Posted by Thunder Pig on January 15, 2008

I found this little gem of absurdity on Crooks and Liars:

Part of being pro-choice is actually respecting choices that would not be the one that you personally would make. That said, and as a mother myself, I have to say that I HATE Crisis Pregnancy Center, who has a very prominent banner sign very close to my local high school. Bullying and lying to a teenager to get her to keep a pregnancy that she may not be emotionally, physically or financially able to handle is just child abuse in my opinion.

The blogger was noting a Huckabee visit to the Carolina Pregnancy Center.

So, according to the blogger, child abuse is worse than murder. Only from the mouth (or keyboard) from the anti-life would one hear that absurdity. They hate life so very much, they do not even want the young women to give their babies up for adoption, preferring to sacrifice them to their dark god(s).

At least Huckabee gets it right on the ongoing holocaust that is abortion.

Two Minutes of Hate with Keith Olbermann

Posted by Thunder Pig on December 23, 2007

George Orwell in 1984 captures perfectly a characteristic of radical thinking, if thinking is not too generous a term. The regime of Orwell’s fictional “Oceania” regularly televises “Two Minutes Hate” that is required viewing for the population. These broadcasts are a shortened version of the regularly scheduled renditions of “Hate Week.” During these exercises, everyone must follow the ritual of hate against those deemed enemies of the regime – “Goldstein” (Trotsky) being that regime’s favored enemy.

The purveyor of Hate Minutes and Hate Weeks betrays a simple and stifled mind that seeks the same in its viewers. It is a mind that cannot conclude that someone with conflicting views is merely misguided or wrong. Rather, anyone who has views that don’t comport with those “smelly orthodoxies” (as Orwell put it) is utterly contemptible. He deserves all the venom and hate that can be mustered.

This sort of hate, so lovingly cultivated by the likes of Keith Olbermann, is indicative of a peculiar attitude and little more. This attitude is actually the pose of one who supposedly sees through all the charades, who cannot be fooled, and who then smugly reports his findings to the less sophisticated. It simulates depth. This attitude has become especially prevalent on the left since King Karl Marx was dethroned and relegated to the dustbin of history.

So, during primetime on weeknights, MSNBC treats America to Olbermann’s hatefest, where, like being on The Edmund Fitzgerald, the minutes go by like hours. Rather than “Goldstein,” Olbermann subjects to his venom George Bush and anyone who may implement or support his policies.

In the show that I endured, Olbermann hyperventilated over the destroyed waterboarding tapes, which Olbermann repeatedly called “torture tapes.” In Olbermann’s world, saying it is so often enough makes it so. He trotted out a left-wing law professor who assured us that water- boarding is illegal torture.

Another good book to look to to see a vision of America under lefty control is Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged, which a lot of former libertarians seem to be ignoring in their drift to the left.

I wonder what Ayn Rand would say of our plans to fight instead of fleeing…

An Open Letter to Linda Chavez and her RINO Friends

Posted by Thunder Pig on July 1, 2007

Original Commentary

This is in response to your article published on the Boston Herald website on Saturday, 30 June of 2007.

Our borders are not secure because the President does not want them secure, and Congress is only to happy to oblige, even though legislation, and funding was passed last year to build a fence. It is a crime that the fence has not been built.

Amnesty would see the 12 to 20 million illegal aliens become 20 to 40 million overnight. Every person who crosses the border illegally is guilty of a felony. Every person who hires them is breaking the law, often numerous laws. The government currently gives both classes of criminals a ‘silent amnesty’ by refusing to enforce laws already on the books.

Yes, Linda, Deportation of Illegals is the next logical step, but only after we primary out certain GOP supporters of amnesty. The majority of the deportations will be self-conducted, after we apply pressure to those who hire them. I have already achieved moderate success locally, just by threatening to report the failure to with hold taxes or file 1099s to the IRS as tax evasion. The IRS even has a rewards system in place as an incentive.

Under current law (the Basic Program), Social Security Numbers can be checked for legitimacy. Sure, mistakes are made, as with any government program—show me a government program free from error, and I’ll show you a fantasy.

How do you enforce the law? By allowing law enforcement to do their job, not by locking up Border Patrol Agents and Sheriff’s Deputies for doing their job. You also allow citizens to report, publicize, and shame employers as well. You’d be surprised at what a few photographs of illegal aliens being picked up for temporary work will do for a company, especially if shown to the right people.

An Amnesty to these illegal aliens would have to be preceded by reimbursing the hundreds of thousands of people who have down it legally.

Are you aware of what a person has to go through to become an American Citizen?

Are you aware of the thousands of dollars, the seemingly endless numbers of forms to be filled out, again and again (with hefty processing fees)–even when repeatedly ‘lost’ by the government?

Are you aware of the number of times an applicant must be fingerprinted, subjected to medical exams?

Are you aware that the person cannot work during this process, and that they must be supported by someone making a certain percentage over the average worker in a year’s time?

Are you aware that the applicant must proove that they are not, and will not, be a burden on society?

Are you aware that a simple infraction of the law will send this person’s efforts down the toilet?

Linda Chavez (and all your friends, too), In My Opinion, you are full of crap of the most disgusting odor.

It is the proponents of Amnesty who will pay in 2008, not the opponents.

Amnesty Deal Will Cost McCain the White House

Posted by Thunder Pig on May 19, 2007

I will admit it, I was a little concerned that Arizona Senator John McCain might get the GOP nomination for President.
Now, with Senate Passage of the “Immigration Reform,” I can rest easy. He will not get the nomination. He may survive Giga-Tuesday, but that will only be the shear force of his nation-endangering ego.

My utter disgust with Senator McCain began with McCain-Feingold,[a law that I will not follow, should I ever fall under it’s provision] and he continues to work to destroy America on our dime to this day.

I will say that Governor Mitt Romney’s stock went up with his comments on the bill:

“I strongly oppose today’s bill going through the Senate. It is the wrong approach. Any legislation that allows illegal immigrants to stay in the country indefinitely, as the new ‘Z-Visa’ does, is a form of amnesty. That is unfair to the millions of people who have applied to legally immigrate to the U.S.
