Hillary’s Nuke

Posted by Thunder Pig on May 6, 2008

You just can’t kill the Hilda Beast:

Hillary Clinton’s campaign has a secret weapon to build its delegate count, but her top strategists say privately that any attempt to deploy it would require a sharp (and by no means inevitable) shift in the political climate within Democratic circles by the end of this month.

With at least 50 percent of the Democratic Party’s 30-member Rules and Bylaws Committee committed to Clinton, her backers could — when the committee meets at the end of this month — try to ram through a decision to seat the disputed 210-member Florida and 156-member Michigan delegations. Such a decision would give Clinton an estimated 55 or more delegates than Obama, according to Clinton campaign operatives. The Obama campaign has declined to give an estimate.

Using the Rules and Bylaws Committee to force the seating of two pro-Hillary delegations would provoke a massive outcry from Obama forces. Such a strategy would, additionally, face at least two other major hurdles, and could only be attempted, according to sources in the Clinton camp, under specific circumstances:

First, this coming Tuesday, Clinton would have to win Indiana and lose North Carolina by a very small margin – or better yet, win the Tar Heel state. She would also have to demonstrate continued strength in the contests before May 31.

Second, and equally important, her argument that she is a better general election candidate than Obama — that he has major weaknesses which have only been recently revealed — would have to rapidly gain traction, not only within the media, where she has experienced some success, but within the broad activist ranks of the Democratic Party.

Under that optimistic scenario, some Clinton operatives believe she could overcome several massive stumbling blocks:

— Clinton loyalists on the Rules Committee would have to be persuaded to put their political futures on the line by defying major party constituencies, especially black leaders backing Barack Obama. Committee members are unlikely to take such a step unless they are convinced that Clinton has a strong chance of winning the nomination.

Former DNC and South Carolina Democratic Party chair Donald Fowler — a Hillary loyalist — would, for example, face an outpouring of anger from South Carolina Democrats if he were to go along with such a strategy.

— A controversial decision to seat the two delegations, as currently constituted, would be appealed by the Obama campaign to the Democratic National Convention’s Credentials Committee.

The full make-up of the Credentials Committee will not be determined until all the primaries are completed, but the pattern of Clinton and Obama victories so far clearly suggests that Obama delegates on that committee will outnumber Clinton delegates. Obama will not, however, have a majority, according to most estimates, and the balance of power will be held by delegates appointed by DNC chair Howard Dean.

For the scenario to work, then, Dean would have to be convinced of Clinton’s superior viability in the general election, and that she has a strong chance of defeating McCain next November.

Klinton Kos Kidz on Strike!!!

Posted by Thunder Pig on March 16, 2008

Please sir, can we have some more?

On Friday, it got to be too much for Alegre, a diarist on the flagship liberal blog DailyKos, who frequently writes in support of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.

“I’ve put up with the abuse and anger because I’ve always believed in what our online community has tried to accomplish in this world,” Alegre wrote Friday evening. “No more.”

Objecting to the tone of attacks against Mrs. Clinton and her supporters on the blog, the diarist called for a “writers strike.”

“This is a strike – a walkout over unfair writing conditions at DailyKos. It does not mean that if conditions get better I won’t ‘work’’ at DailyKos again,” Alegre wrote, promising to come back only “if we ever get to the point where we’re engaging each other in discussion rather than facing off in shouting matches.”

The blogosphere has never been known for its polite, gentle discourse, and while fiercely partisan, being a Democrat does not make one immune from attacks from the lefty blogs (see Lieberman, Joseph I.). But now, the major internal divisions within the Democratic Party seem to be splitting liberal bloggers. So what happens when the unity enforcement mechanism becomes disjointed?

Alegre’s post attracted a strong reaction, both negative and positive. The comment board was shut down about 5.5 hours after it was posted, with 1258 comments.

One user, Sentient, called for a “permanent succession”:

“Why should this site and Kos profit from the traffic we add to DailyKos, and the sense by outsiders that it represents the netroots as a whole?” the blogger asked, adding later, “But I just don’t see how people come back together on a daily basis after a falling out like this.”

Another poster challenged Alegre’s assertion that “DailyKos is not the site it once was thanks to the abusive nature of certain members of our community.”

The nutroots are getting their just deserts while the rest of us will enjoy a little popcorn while we watch them implode.

THe Clinton Dirty Tricks Operation that released videos of Obama’s pastor has succeeded beyond my wildest dreams. Even the few Democrats at church this morning were expressing shock and dismay over Jeremiah Wright’s blasphemous words. They cannot understand why Obama just didn’t leave the church, and find one he agreed with. I hope I gave them something to think about when I told them that perhaps he agreed with the words, or was only at church for show.

If you are interested in helping split the Democrats further apart, you can donate a few bucks to help out Ralph Nader in the hope that he will split the Dem vote like he did in 2000, and Ross Perot did to the GOP in 1992.

I might not be ready to campaign for McCain just yet, but I will do everything I can to disrupt the enemy just on General Principles!

Killing For Congress

Posted by Thunder Pig on August 22, 2007

August 16, 2007 — TWO days ago, al Qaeda detonated four massive truck bombs in three Iraqi villages, killing at least 250 civilians (perhaps as many as 500) and wounding many more. The bombings were a sign of al Qaeda’s frustration, desperation and fear.

The victims were ethnic Kurd Yazidis, members of a minor sect with pre-Islamic roots. Muslim extremists condemn them (wrongly) as devil worshippers. The Yazidis live on the fringes of society.

That’s one of the two reasons al Qaeda targeted those settlements: The terrorist leaders realize now that the carnage they wrought on fellow Muslims backfired, turning once-sympathetic Sunni Arabs against them. The fanatics calculated that Iraqis wouldn’t care much about the Yazidis.

As far as the Thieves of Baghdad (also known as Iraq’s government) go, the terrorists were right. Iraqi minorities, including Christians, have been classified as fair game by Muslim butchers. Mainstream Iraqis simply look away.

But the second reason for those dramatic bombings was that al Qaeda needs to portray Iraq as a continuing failure of U.S. policy. Those dead and maimed Yazidis were just props: The intended audience was Congress.

Al Qaeda has been badly battered. It’s lost top leaders and thousands of cadres. Even more painful for the Islamists, they’ve lost ground among the people of Iraq, including former allies. Iraqis got a good taste of al Qaeda. Now they’re spitting it out.

The foreign terrorists slaughtering the innocent recognize that their only remaining hope of pulling off a come-from-way-behind win is to convince your senator and your congressman or -woman that it’s politically expedient to hand a default victory to a defeated al Qaeda.

Expect more attempts to generate massive bloodshed in Iraq in the coming weeks. The terrorists are well aware of the exaggerated-by-all-parties importance of Gen. David Petraeus’ Sept. 15 progress report to Congress. They’ll do all they can to embarrass the general and provide ammunition to the surrender caucus.

Meanwhile, our military progress has become undeniable. Even Democratic presidential aspirants have started hedging their peace-at-any-price positions. To the horror of al Qaeda and left-wing bloggers alike, cutting and running is starting to look unfashionable.

Read the whole thing, and you’ll see why Lefties and certain Democrats (and Ron Paul) give the enemy hope that they can still win. President Lincoln would have these traitors removed to Canada…but I think their newly elected conservative Prime Minister would object!

Lefties For Censorship: A Preview of a Democrat Administration

Posted by Thunder Pig on July 29, 2007

The Neo-Stalinists of the nutroots have once again displayed a love of Tyranny and Censorship, especially when the views expressed are at odds with their view of reality.
These people are as dangerous a group to American Liberties as has ever walked our shores, and anyone who considers an alliance with them is suspect. They have been shamed from using the term “Liberal” because Bush-41 so effectively ridiculed them from using it as a self descriptor.

What has gotten me on this rant? The latest “movement” by Moveon.org and Daily Kos to scare advertisers away from Bill O’Reilly’s The O’Reilly Factor on Fox.

NEW YORK (AP) — Liberal activists are stepping up their campaign against Fox News Channel by pressuring advertisers not to patronize the network.

MoveOn.org, the Campaign for America’s Future and liberal blogs like DailyKos.com are asking thousands of supporters to monitor who is advertising on the network. Once a database is gathered, an organized phone-calling campaign will begin, said Jim Gilliam, vice president of media strategy for Brave New Films, a company that has made anti-Fox videos.

The groups have successfully pressured Democratic presidential candidates not to appear at any debate sponsored by Fox, and are also trying to get Home Depot Inc. to stop advertising there.

At least 5,000 people nationwide have signed up to compile logs on who is running commercials on Fox, Gilliam said. The groups want to first concentrate on businesses running local ads, as opposed to national commercials.

”It’s a lot more effective for Sam’s Diner to get calls from 10 people in his town than going to the consumer complaint department of some pharmaceutical company,” Gilliam said.

Some of the videos produced by Gilliam’s company compile statements made by Fox anchors and guests that the activists consider misleading, such as those that question global warming.

And, true to form, they are lying already…trying to take credit for Lowe’s pulling adverts from O’Reilly’s show, when they pulled their adverts back in February over a different matter altogether.

One website even has a list of O’Reilly Advertisers to make it easy for the lefty brownshirts to find their targets. I suggest you use the list to praise the advertisers.

These nuts even have a petition asking Home Depot to pull adverts from Fox!

The Left knows their nutty ideas will not survive in the marketplace of ideas, so they are left with no other choice but to try to shut up their opposition.

I consider Fox as the official channel for RINOs, and actually harmful to the conservative movement. Can you imagine the rage that would be expressed if a real conservative news channel made it on the air? Talk about foaming at the mouth!!!

Let’s see…
CNN=Liberal
ABC=Liberal
NBC=Liberal
CBS=Progressive
MSNBC=Progressive
Fox News=RINO

I guess there might be some bias there, eh?

Oh, and the whole point of my title…can you imagine the kind of damage a Lefty President would do to our Liberties and Freedom of Speech?

Fearing Fox News and Media Manipulation

Posted by Thunder Pig on April 19, 2007

I was going to do a write-up on the Nut Root Jihad against Fox News, then I saw this cartoon over at Ogre’s Politics & Views, and could not resist swiping it because it said basically what I had in mind, only more effectively.

I am 100% certain that who ever gets the Democrat nomination, will appear on Fox News, because without the Number One News Network, they cannot win the White House.

The candidates are fearful of a shrill minority in their party, who pull all the strings of the Legacy Media, as detailed in the following video:
