Crunching The Numbers On 527’s: Exposing Barack Obama’s Lie

Posted by Thunder Pig on June 30, 2008

To hear Barack Obama speak you’d think he is gonna be overwhelmed by a folld of Republican 527’s this fall. Methinks the guilty dog is barking first:

Before the conventions in 2004, 527’s had raised $189.1 million, with Conservative groups raising $43.8 million and Liberal groups raising $132.6 million. The Liberals out raised Conservatives 3 to 1.

Now, the 527’s have raised $207.8 million, with Conservative groups raising $68.4 million and Liberal groups raising $116.4 million. The Liberals out raised Conservatives 1.7 to 1.

I can see why Obama would be worried. If the Democrat 527’s can’t get a Democrat into the White House when they have a 3 to 1 advantage in money…they might have a problem doing it at 1.7 to 1…unless they really over work those ACORN people and increase their fraudulent voter registrations to unheard of levels.

So, when you hear Barack Obama, or any Democrat, speak of the Republican attack machine…you will be armed with figures that will show them that they have been told a lie, and are repeating it.

Lefties Realize Olberman, Obama Were Faking It On FISA

Posted by Thunder Pig on June 27, 2008

Keith Olbermann on FISA earlier this year…he was against it before he was for it!

On January 31 of this year, Keith Olbermann donned his most serious face and most indignant voice tone to rail against George Bush for supporting telecom immunity and revisions to FISA. In a 10-minute “Special Comment,” the MSNBC star condemned Bush for wanting to “retroactively immunize corporate criminals,” and said that telecom immnity is “an ex post facto law, which would clear the phone giants from responsibility for their systematic, aggressive and blatant collaboration with [Bush’s] illegal and unjustified spying on Americans under this flimsy guise of looking for any terrorists who are stupid enough to make a collect call or send a mass email.”

Olbermann added that telecom amnesty was a “shameless, breathless, literally textbook example of Fascism — the merged efforts of government and corporations that answer to no government.”

Source: Glenn Greenwald

And, when confronted with Obama’s acceptance of FISA, Olberman reveals his true colors:

Last night, Olbermann invited Newsweek‘s Jonathan Alter onto his show to discuss Obama’s support for the FISA and telecom amnesty bill (video of the segment is here). There wasn’t a syllable uttered about “immunizing corporate criminals” or “textbook examples of Fascism” or the Third Reich. There wasn’t a word of rational criticism of the bill either. Instead, the two media stars jointly hailed Obama’s bravery and strength — as evidenced by his “standing up to the left” in order to support this important centrist FISA compromise:

Now this is too funny!!!

Will the lefties keep on drinking the Obama Koolaid as Olberman has done?

Obama was against immunity before he was for it.

**update** 11.20 AM

Olberman has fired back at Greenwald over at KKKos Kidz.

Barack Obama: The Candidate of Change

Posted by Thunder Pig on June 24, 2008

We keep hearing that Barack Obama is the candidate of change, that he is clear and consistent in his leadership and in his message. But what does that mean? A look at a few of the positions and counter positions the Junior Senator from Illinois has taken in the course of his four short years from a candidate for the United States Senate to a candidate for the Presidency:

Foreign Terrorists Given Rights Under U.S. Constitution

Posted by Thunder Pig on June 12, 2008

This is a travesty of justice. (PDF of Decision)

In a stunning blow to the Bush Administration in its war-on-terrorism policies, the Supreme Court ruled Thursday that foreign nationals held at Guantanamo Bay have a right to pursue habeas challenges to their detention. The Court, dividing 5-4, ruled that Congress had not validly taken away habeas rights. If Congress wishes to suspend habeas, it must do so only as the Constitution allows — when the country faces rebellion or invasion.

The Court stressed that it was not ruling that the detainees are entitled to be released — that is, entitled to have writs issued to end their confinement. That issue, it said, is left to the District Court judges who will be hearing the challenges. The Court also said that “we do not address whether the President has authority to detain” individuals during the war on terrorism, and hold them at the U.S. Naval base in Cuba; that, too, it said, is to be considered first by the District judges.

The Court also declared that detainees do not have to go through the special civilian court review process that Congress created in 2005, since that is not an adequate substitute for habeas rights. The Court refused to interpret the Detainee Treatment Act — as the Bush Administration had suggested — to include enough legal protection to make it an adequate replacement for habeas. Congress, it concluded, unconstitutionally suspended the writ in enacting that Act.

Justice Anthony M. Kennedy’s opinion for the majority in Boumediene v. Bush (06-1195) and Al Odah v. U.S. (06-1196) was an almost rhapsodic review of the history of the Great Writ. The Suspension Clause, he wrote, “protects the rights of the detained by a means consistent with the essential design of the Constitution. It ensures that, except during periods of formal suspension, the Judiciary will have a time-tested device, the writ, to maintain the ‘delicate balance of governance’ that is itself the surest safeguard of liberty.” Those who wrote the Constitution, he added, “deemed the writ to be an essential mechanism in the separation-of-powers scheme.”

and in another post:

At first glance, it would appear that although the decision is momentous, there are other important things that it does not do:

It does not speak to whether GTMO should be closed (although it basically undermines the Administration’s principal reason for using GTMO in the first place, which was to keep the courts from reviewing the legality of the Executive’s conduct).

Nor does it affect, in any dramatic sense, possible military commission trials — with the important exception that it invites the defendants in those trials to raise constitutional defenses, such as under the Ex Post Facto Clause.

I predict the ruling will result in more deaths of terrorists on the battlefield rather than risk a costly court battle where the foreigner can drain taxpayer funds for court proceedings. Also, will the soldiers be expected to Mirandize terrorists before taking them into custody?

Let this also be a reminder of one of the three most important things to consider about this Presidential Election (1) Judges; (2) Judges; and (3) Judges.

What kind of Judges will Barack Obama appoint?

What kind of Judges will John McCain appoint?

In my opinion, there is no choice. Obama will appoint Marxists, and McCain will not.

This ruling is a setback in allowing us to effectively fight World War IV.

Terrorists For Obama

Posted by Thunder Pig on June 9, 2008

And I thought that Ron Paul was the only guy who attracted nuts and haters to his campaign:

Jemaah Islamiyah For Obama

We are a group that supports social justice for our oppressed Muslim brothers all over the world. We support Barack Obama for President because he is sympathetic to the plight of Muslims. He is a man of integrity, who will not be bullied by the neo-cons and the zionists. He will stand up for our oppressed palestinian brothers and sisters, whose land is being illegally occupied by that evil zionist entity whose name I just hate to even write.

Greetings Fellow Obama Supporters! By Fatima – Mar 31st, 2008 at 10:13 pm EDT

Welcome to Jemaah Islamiyah! My name is Fatima, and I’m thrilled to be supporting Barack Obama for President. For now, we have a man of integrity, who will fight for the rights of Muslims everywhere. Allah has blessed us with a man who will stand up to the neoconservatives and the racist zionists. I believe with all my heart that Barack Obama will stop the American occupation of Iraq. No longer will American soldiers be able to kill our women and children with impunity.

Mr. Obama will also talk to Iran’s leader Mahmoud Amadinejad, whom the current chimp in the White House has treated so badly. I mean why should American and Israel be able to have nukes but not Iran? That is very unfair. Obama will right that wrong.

Furthermore, Senator Obama will take a much more rational approach in the Middle East. No longer will that zionist entity, whose name I hate to even write be able to oppress our Palestinian brothers and sisters with impunity. If anyone can stop the illegal occupation of Palestinian lands, I know it is Barack Obama!

In case you don’t know who these terrorists are, read Western Resistance, who has a good article on the Indonesian terrorist group.

What makes these terrorists dangerous is their use of sleeper cells, their military organizational structure, and their nearly 14,000 Islamic boarding schools they use to propagate their beliefs.

Some progressives just don’t understand that most of these people see Obama completely different than we do, and see him as an ally with them in the struggle against Israel, and Western Civilization.

I still hold that Islamic terrorists and Marxist Progressives (like Obama) are natural allies in their struggle against Western Civilization.

BREAKING: Obama Friend Tony Rezko Guilty On All 16 Counts

Posted by Thunder Pig on June 4, 2008

Convicted political fixer Antoin “Tony” Rezko, found guilty today on 16 counts of corruption “related to a kickback scheme for companies that do business with the state” of Illinois, has surrendered to authorities.

Rezko, who is scheduled for sentencing in September, surprised even his attorney by opting to begin serving his time immediately.

“I didn’t choose that. Mr. Rezko chose if he was convicted to immediately start serving,” said Joe Duffy, Rezko Defense Attorney. “That was just the desire he expressed to us, and it was his decision.”
