Season 4 of Battlestar Galactica

Posted by Thunder Pig on April 4, 2008

This is my favorite show right now (thanks to iTunes since I don’t have TV service) even though Universal and NBC raped the concept by not allowing it to continue through a fifth season. Universal has become almost as stupid as Paramount Studios.

This is why BSG will not be able to replace Babylon 5 as the greatest Science Fiction TV Series ever.

Progressives Clinging to the Peak Oil Myth

Posted by Thunder Pig on April 4, 2008

It is getting warmer outside, the birds are singing, and what are Asheville’s Progressives up to? Screening movies about Peak Oil (tonight), and planning discussion panels (next week) about the the same.

This is silly. Oil is produced from many sources, not just organic materials. Tiny Titan’s Hydrocarbon reserves dwarf what is on the earth, and I doubt very much dinosaurs and jungles are (or were) to be found a billion miles from the sun.

The inorganic reserves of hydrocarbons below 30,000 feet in the earth’s crust could even dwarf the amount of water in the oceans of the earth. (Not that we could ever use all of it, it is comforting to know that oceans of hydrocarbons are waiting to be tapped, should we ever need them to power our civilization. The Russians are already doing so, and have passed Saudi Arabia as the world’s largest producer of oil.
You can read more about abiotic oil at Al Fin.

You know, the lefties are so wrong about so much, it’s no wonder that they try their best to drown out the conservatives who are telling the truth!

Yet Another Madison County & Boss Leake Scandal by Ann Ryder

Posted by Thunder Pig on April 4, 2008

Wow! Did you notice how quickly the Asheville Citizen Times (ACT) took down the news item on their website regarding the federal indictment of the folks slated to design and build the proposed new jail for Madison County? Mail fraud and conspiracy to make illegal contributions to the governor of Mississippi. You can get the story at…

What is Ted Turner Smoking?

Posted by Thunder Pig on April 4, 2008

Here is the money quote:

Not doing it will be catastrophic. We’ll be eight degrees hotter in ten, not ten but 30 or 40 years and basically none of the crops will grow. Most of the people will have died and the rest of us will be cannibals.

That prediction is just plain nuts. Global Warming would be a boon to mankind, with increased growing seasons, the opening of new territory for crop land, and more rain. On the other hand, Global Cooling would be a unmitigated disaster for mankind, with shorter growing seasons, less land available for growing crops, and increased periods of drought…which we are beginning to experience…as the past year has seen Global temps plummet.

Sadly, there are probably millions of lefties out there who nod their heads in agreement when they hear this Environmental Fear-Mongering put forth by the Global Warming Idiots. (Say, have you noticed that they have ever so subtly starting to refer to “Climate Change” instead of Global Warming? They realize that the jig is very close to being up…) All the evidence is pointing to a cool down, and this will only make the socialists, lefties, and progressives all the more desperate to seize control, and steal your freedoms…using a lie to do it. These people do not care about the earth, all they want is power over other people.

Another Product of Western Civilization

Posted by Thunder Pig on April 4, 2008

Amazing SIX-Year-Old Singer – video powered by Metacafe

What other civilization could have produced this?
(Leave “The Religion of Peace” off the list of potential answers).
Still not as good as this performance, which I doubt can be topped:

If this performance does not evoke tears, you are missing a part of your soul.
