(OH-05) Robin Weirauch Caught Red-Handed

Posted by Thunder Pig on December 6, 2007

In what will come as a shock to Ohio taxpayers, Robin Weirauch, the Democrat candidate for Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District, was caught red-handed supporting legislation that would provide taxpayer-funded government benefits to illegal immigrants.

If you guessed that Robin is a democrat, move to the front of the class!

THere is something similar afoot here in North Carolina, and the GOP is fighting back. I hope they do the same in Ohio.

(Press Release) Eagle Forum Endorses Shuler Bill

Eagle Forum Endorses Shuler Bill to SAVE America from Illegal Immigration

Washington, D.C.—Eagle Forum, a leading pro-family organization founded by Phyllis Schlafly, fully supports and endorses the Secure America with Verification and Enforcement (SAVE) Act, H.R. 4088, recently introduced by Representative Heath Shuler (D-NC). For years, Eagle Forum has been a tireless advocate of an enforcement approach in remedying the illegal immigration problem in the United States. The introduction of this bill is exciting because it is the first to seriously address the issues of border security and interior enforcement since the stunning defeat of the Senate’s “Grand Amnesty” plan this past summer.

“We are very excited about Rep. Shuler’s bill,” stated Eagle Forum Executive Director, Jessica Echard. “Not only does it properly address the will of grassroots Americans to enforce already-existing immigration laws, but has a good chance of coming to a vote as it is rapidly gaining a good deal of bipartisan support. It already has over 100 cosponsors.”

“This bill looks very promising because it tackles illegal immigration from three different directions,” Echard said. “First, it increases technological surveillance and the number of border patrol agents. Second, it requires employers to use the E-verify program so they can be assured they are not hiring illegal aliens. Thirdly, it will give the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) greater resources to strictly enforce current immigration laws and to better facilitate deportation when necessary.”

“During the push for amnesty instead of enforcement this past summer, there was a lot of rhetoric coming from Capitol Hill about enhanced border security and employer verification of employees,” stated Echard. “This bill gives Congress a great opportunity to prove to Americans that they actually meant what they said.”

Eagle Forum’s Mission is to enable conservative and pro-family men and women to participate in the process of self-government and public policy making so that America will continue to be a land of individual liberty, respect for family integrity, public and private virtue, and private enterprise.

New Rasmussen Numbers for 2008 Race

Posted by Thunder Pig on December 6, 2007

These numbers are surprising, on both sides:

1 Mike Huckabee 21%
2 Rudy Giuliani 18%
3 Mitt Romney 12%
4 Fred Thompson 11%
5 John McCain 11%
6 Ron Paul 8%

Huckabee sure has surged in the past few weeks hasn’t he? And what is up with Ron Paul? If he makes the 15% mark…I’ll be seriously concerned, because then he would be in a position to pick up some of the supporters of the other candidates (especially if they distrust the current leaders of the pack) as they drop out.

1 Hillary Clinton 31%
2 Barack Obama 26%
3 John Edwards 15%
4 Bill Richardson 6%

I sure hope Obama doesn’t catch Hillary, because I think she’ll be the easiest for the GOP to defeat between her and Obama. I used to fear Edwards being nominated; these numbers look like he is pretty well toast.

**update**12.32pm I was remiss in not including this information on the poll:

This survey includes approximately 750-800 Likely Democratic Primary Voters and 600-650 Likely Republican Primary Voters. Margin of sampling error for each is +/- 4 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

Krazy Kos Kidz Attack Coverage of Romney Speech!

Posted by Thunder Pig on December 6, 2007

A Kos Kid has already posted, wondering if the coverage of the speech on TV was illegal. I kid you not:

I just turned on the TV and was flipping channels and CNN and MSNBC are carrying Mitt Romney’s speech LIVE.

Yes, they are carrying the speech, apparently in its entirety, LIVE.

Like it’s some kind of “Big Deal” to America. It’s not. It’s just some wanna-be politician trying to b.s. his way into office.

Can someone tell me how this is NOT breaking campaign finance law?

This is a FREE CAMPAIGN COMMERCIAL FOR ROMNEY. A DONATION. FROM MAJOR NEWS CORPORATIONS. TWO OF THEM! (heck, I didn’t even check Foks News, so it’s probably three!)

Imagine if Boeing gave Romney his own 767 to fly around in. THAT’S what this is equivalent to.

Aren’t they now obligated to let, say, Edwards give an entire speech, LIVE?

Or, maybe Obama?

Or, just to be fair, McCain?

See, this is how we should be able to bring these “news” networks down, by busting them on this kind of thing.

To carry a candidate’s speech, in its entirety, LIVE on their networks, is an extremely valuable in-kind donation to that candidate. Just think if he had to buy that airtime.

How much is this worth in dollars? It should be pretty easy to figure out.

Can’t we bust them on this?

Of course you can’t. Because it would NEVER HAPPEN.

Daily Kos [Current] [Snapshot]

I’m guessing this person is your standard issue progressive, who has no idea about what is news worthy…and would go through any mental contortion to shut up the opposition. I suggest you read the comments, as there are some of the Kos Kidz with some sense. I couldn’t resist highlighting this idiot, and preserving their “outrage,” which they express oh so well with ALL CAPS.

One last parting shot…notice how this parallels with the actions of the leader of the North Carolina Democrat Party, Jerry Meeks, to the Carolina Stomper video of Elaine Lite dancing with pagans in downtown Asheville…by trying to punish the messenger…not the message.

These people are morally bankrupt, and cannot compete with us in the marketplace of ideas.

So, set your alarm, and come back and watch the speech.

I will be recording the audio, and will have it available shortly after the speech is finished so those of you who missed it can at least listen to it here, or download it to listen later. I will embed it in this post so bookmark it for easy locating later.

**update** 10.58am the speech is over, and I am editing the audio.

At first blush…I think he hit it out of the ballpark. He said what he needed to say, and was very Presidential in his delivery.

**update#2** 11.15am okay, I have edited the audio and encoded it as an MP3.
You can stream it here or download it for later. The file is approx. 22m 52s long, and 20.9MB in size.

**update** 2.17pm
For a transcript of the speech visit his campaign website.

About the latest Mall Shooting

Posted by Thunder Pig on December 6, 2007

The Mall Shooting in Omaha has left 8 innocent people dead, and 1 perp dead.

If just one armed citizen had been nearby, the headlines would be different, and perhaps less people dead.

I carry nearly everywhere I go, and practically the only way to keep me from carrying is to put metal detectors at the entrance to buildings I am interested in entering.

When are people going to quit accepting the virtual disarmament of the body public? Where have all the gunracks in the pickups gone?

Common Sense don’t seem to be quite so common anymore, does it?

About the WGA Strike

Posted by Thunder Pig on December 6, 2007

I am glad that the WGA has gone on strike for the reason that so many Lefty Shows have been shutdown.

This is one case of Lefties hurting Lefties that I can really enjoy!

Think about it.
