Newsletter Image Wednesday, April 11, 2007, 12:00 Noon
Grove Park Inn, 290 Macon Avenue, Asheville, NC 28894 – View Map
Price: $20.00 (includes lunch) – Purchase tickets online.

In β€œAn Inconvenient Truth,” Al Gore claims that catastrophic global warming is a reality. More importantly, Gore argues that global warming is largely human-caused. But are the claims made in the movie supported by the evidence?

Join us for lunch with Dr. Marlo Lewis, a renowned expert on the science, economics, and politics of global warming policy,
as he exposes claim after claim contained in β€œAn Inconvenient Truth.”

Lewis, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, will discuss the fallacies of the global warming arguments and describe the detrimental economic effects that the Kyoto treaty poses, not only for the United States of America, but for all countries.

I won’t be going, because some of us have to make a living, and can’t take a day off every few weeks to attend one of these events. Maybe if they held ’em at 7pm or so, but not at lunch. Besides, IU don’t do dress up!
If any of you go, I’d welcome a report and a few photos for the blog, and the news site.

Argentina Senses Weakness, Renews Claim on Falklands

Posted by Thunder Pig on April 2, 2007

No, this is NOT an April’s Fool Post. I already did one this year, thank you very much.
I just read about it on the BBC Website:

Argentina has renewed its claim over the Falkland Islands on the 25th anniversary of invading them – and losing a subsequent war with Britain.

The Malvinas are Argentine, they always were, they always will be,” said Argentine Vice-President Daniel Scioli, using the Spanish name for the islands.

Mr Scioli was speaking in the southern city of Ushuaia – one of a series of events marking the start of the war.

He urged the UK to resume talks on the sovereignty of the islands.

I was sitting in my truck this afternoon, and heard a story about this being the 25th Anniversary of The Falklands War on XM124 in Franklin. I think it was Winston Churchill III on Sean Hannity, and it was brought up in the discussion that the Royal Navy had been seriously down-sized since Tony Blair took office.
The first thought that came into my head was, “Oh No, I hope the Argetines don’t decide to bite off a chunk right about now.” The Argentinians would probably lose again, but who knows, they might just get lucky.

Borrowed Time

Posted by Thunder Pig on April 2, 2007

America, and Western Civilization, are Living on Borrowed Time.

We must begin to stop the Tide of Destruction that is making a mockery of our Constitution.

American Citizens must begin to take back what our Government is giving away.

We must overwhelm our elected officials with our complaints, and make them understand that the Second Amendment is the Reset Button on our Constitution, and we are very close to having to resort to that option to protect Private Property Rights, our Rights as Citizens, and the new taxes being levied on us with out representation.

I have spoken with people who are revealing to me how bad the problem is, and I am preparing to take steps to change the entire dynamic on Public Discourse.

I am also committing to raise up ten locally like me, who may not agree on every issue of philosophy, but agree that our Constitutional Republic is slipping through our fingers, and those peoiple will be charged with raising ten each after a time.
